General Instructions :

i) The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of any printout or communication.

ii) Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.

iii) Execution of Bond and Deployment immediately after Recruitment :
Candidates desirous of applying under the proposed recruitment process should be willing to execute a bond for serving the Bank for two years, after selection. Further, selected candidates shall be required to serve in rural centers for two years immediately after recruitment followed by minimum one year stint in rural/semi-urban centers.

iv) Unless the system generated duly signed printed application form with photograph pasted thereon along with Demand Draft/Bank Pay Order and attested photocopies of relevant certificates is received at the correct specified address by ordinary post, the on-line registration of the candidates application will not be accepted/valid.

v) Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Kolkata and Courts/Tribunals/Forums at Kolkata only shall have the sole and exclusive
jurisdiction to try any such case/dispute.

vi) No candidate is permitted to use calculators, mobile phones, pagers or any other instruments in the Examination Hall.

vii) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

viii) A recent, recognizable passport size photograph should be firmly pasted on the printout and should be signed across by the candidate. Three copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time of written examination and interview.
Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is complete. Failure to produce the same photograph at the time of written test/ interview may lead to disqualification.

ix) Before applying candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement and
ready to comply with the requirements and terms & conditions contained in this advertisement. The candidates are, therefore, advised to carefully read the advertisement and complete on-line application form and submit the same as per the instructions given in this regard.

x) The Bank would be free to reject any application, at any stage of the recruitment process, if the candidate is found ineligible for the post for which he/ she has applied. Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of examination, interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the bank in this behalf. Candidates submitting more than one application in response to the advertisement are liable to be disqualified.

xi) All candidates must submit attested photocopies of the prescribed certificates in support of their Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Caste/Community Certificate / Certificate of Disability issued by the Competent Authority as specified in Para 4.
All Candidates will have to produce, if called for interview, original as well as attested photocopies of their educational certificates, caste/community certificate where applicable, certificate of handicap or any other certificate issued by the Competent Authority in
support of their eligibility, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

xii) A printout not accompanied by requisite application fee and/ or postage, copies of relevant certificate(s) or not in the prescribed format or not signed by the candidate or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained.

xiii) Candidates will have to appear for written test and/ or interview at the allotted centre at their own expense and risk and the Bank will not be responsible for any injury/losses etc. of any nature. However, SC/ST/PC candidates attending the interview will be eligible for reimbursement of 2nd class to & fro rail/ bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel i.e. Railway receipt/ticket(s).

xiv) Candidates serving in Government / Public Sector Undertakings should send their printouts through the proper channel and produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview, in absence of which, their candidature may not be considered. An advance copy of the printout alongwith original Demand Draft/ Bank Pay Order may be sent to the addressee within the stipulated time.

Last Date for Receipt of Applications :
The Printouts should reach the address mentioned above on or before 24.01.2009 by ordinary Post. For the candidates staying abroad and for those posting printouts from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep, Assam, Megahalya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahul and Spiti Distt
and Pangi Sub division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the last date for receipt of printout will be 31.01.2009.
A printout received after the last date will not be entertained by the Bank. Bank will not be responsible for any loss of print out in transit.

The recruitment will be state-wise / union territory-wise as indicated above. A candidate can apply for a vacancy in only one state / union territory and should be willing to be initially posted at any place in that state / Union Territory . Further, he / she will have to appear for the written test from an examination centre specified for that particular state / Union Territory only, as indicated in para no.9 below, and the examination call letter will be issued accordingly. No change in the state / union territory applied for & / or examination centre will be permitted after submission of the application form.

HOW TO APPLY :

i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id. Such e-mail id will be used by us for further communication.
ii) The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in only
iii) After applying on-line, the candidates can take a printout of the challan The postal charges are to be paid in Bank of India branch with the above said challan.

Candidates may find out required branch address from our website www.bankofindia.co.in under head ‘Our Network’ under option ‘Branch Search’
iv) After making the payment, the candidates can log in again to update payment details, For re-logging, candidates would need Registration No., Date of Birth and Password. Candidates are requested to note down these details carefully after applying on-line. The last date for updating payment details is 08.01.2009.
v) After updating the valid payment details, the on-line registered application becomes valid.
vi) Only after updating the valid payment details, the candidate would be allowed to take a printout of the already registered on-line application. (Please take printout) This printout along with the challan and required xerox copies of documents duly attested should be submitted at the time of written test at the written test centre.

vii) Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.

The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in only. No other mode of application will be accepted. Provision has been made to generate a challan for payment of postal charges with specific registration number upon filling up the application. The candidate should make payment of postal charges in any branch of Bank of India by such computer-generated challan only and take acknowledgement on the counterfoil. Once payment is made, the candidate should enter name of the branch and date of payment made, in application and take a print out of the application. The applicant should sign and affix his photograph on such print out of application. The said application alongwith challan and xerox copies of documents duly attested should be kept ready for submission at the time written test (at the written test centre). Documents to be enclosed are as follows :

1. Copy of receipted challan;
2. Attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document showing proof of age acceptable to the Bank.
3. Attested copies of Mark sheets / certificates in support of Educational Qualification;
4. Attested copy of certificate of Computer Course;
5. Caste / Physically handicapped / any other related certificate as applicable.
If selected for interview, candidates serving in Government / Public Sector Undertakings (including Banks & Financial Institutions) will be required to submit “No Objection Certificate” from their employer, in the absence of which their candidature will not be considered.
