Recruitment of Sub Inspector/GD (Male) and Constable/GD (Male&Female) Against Sports Quota
Applications are invited from the MALE candidates for the post of Sub. Inspector/General Duty and MALE/FEMALE for the post of Constable/General Duty in Indo-Tibetan Border Police against Sports Quota on temporary basis, likely to be permanent in the pay scale of Rs. 5500-175-9000 Sub. Inspector/General Duty and Rs. 3050-75-3950-80-4590/- Constable/General Duty plus usual allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time. In addition, ration allowances, free medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, leave travel concession etc. are admissible to ITBPF personnel. The post has all India liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. They will be governed under ITBPF Act and Rules as well as Central Civil Service Rules applicable to other members of the Force and other Act and Rules applicable from time to time. On appointment they shall be entitled for pension benefits as per the “New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme” applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government Service with effect from 1st Jan. 2004.
Sub Inpsector : 13 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 5500-175-9000, Age : 20-25 years, Qualification : The Minimum qualification is a degree of a recognized university or equivalent
Constable (GD) Sports Quota : 343 posts (Male – 319, Women-24) in various sports disciplines, Pay Scale : Rs. 3050-4590/-, Age : 18-23 years. Relaxation as per rules, Qualification : Minimum matriculation or equivalent.

Eligibility in:-
A) Age: -
i) For Sub. Inspector/GD – Between 20 to 25 year as on 01 August 2008 Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST & 03 years for OBC candidates.
ii) For Constable/GD - Between 18 to 23 years as on 01 August 2008 Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST & 03 years for OBC candidates.
B) Education:-
i) For Sub. Inspector/GD - The Minimum qualification is a degree of a recognized
university or equivalent.
ii) For Constable/GD - Minimum matriculation or equivalent.
Weight for male & female candidates:-Proportionate to height & age as per medical standards.
Note: Relaxations required if any, in height, chest, weight and educational qualification etc. will be given to the meritorious sports person.
d. Medical Standards:-
i) Eye Sight: - The Minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without glasses.
ii) The candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with their efficient performance of the duties.
iii) The candidates should meet the medical standards prescribed for ITBPF.
e. Sports/Games:-
I) For Sub. Inspector/GD:-
i) Sr. National Gold/Silver medalist or
ii) Jr. National Gold Medalist or
iii) Participant of recognized Sr./Jr. International Tournaments.
II) For Constable/GD:
(i) Sportsmen who have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in any of the games/sports mentioned at Para 2 (A) for Men and 2 (B) for Women.
(ii) Sportsmen who have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the sports/games mentioned at Para 2 (A) for Men and 2 (B) for Women.
(iii) Sportsmen who have represented the State Schools Team in the National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports mentioned at Para 2 (A) for Men and 2 (B) for Women.
4. Criteria for Selection:-
A playing member of a team or in individual events who has participated in Senior/Junior National/Inter University/ State Championship or Member of Medal winning team of Inter School/ College Games would be preferred. The standard of the candidates in each discipline will be ascertained on the basis of merit drawn after taking into consideration of their achievements in last three years. Final selection of the players will be done on the basis of their performance given in trial test and qualitative requirement prescribed for recruitment of sports personnel. The decision of the Recruitment Board with regard to matter concerning with the recruitment will be final in all respect and no further correspondence on this issue will be made with rejected candidates.
5. Persons serving in Govt./Semi Govt. Department may send their applications through proper channel along with “No objection Certificate” Departmental meritorious sports personnel can also apply for the post of Sub. Inspector/GD & Constable/GD under sports quota.
How to apply and by which date
Application in the prescribed format as per Annexure-I with passport size photograph affixing on application be sent superscribing on envelope in bold letter

to
The Commandant, 22nd Bn, ITB Police, Tigri Camp, PO: Madangir, New Delhi- 110062, so as to reach not later than 30.09.2008 through ordinary post/UPC/Registered /courier. However, the closing date of receipt of application for the candidates belonging to Pangi Sub Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh, Leh & ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, N.E. States, Sikkim and the Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshdweep will be 15.10.2008.
Applications duly filled in must be accompanied with following documents:-
a) Demand Draft of Rs 50/- for candidates belonging to General and OBC category only. The Demand Draft may be prepared in favour of Commandant, 22nd Bn, ITBP payable at SBI, R.K. Puram, New Delhi- 1076. The IPO may be prepared in favour of Commandant, 22nd Bn, ITB Police, Tigri Camp, PO- Madangir, New Delhi-110062.
b) Attested copies of Certificate/testimonial as proof of educational qualification and age/date of birth and sports certificate. For date of birth verification attested copy of matriculation certificate only will be accepted.
c) Attested copies of Domicile Certificate issued by Sub Division level Revenue Officer or its equivalent.
d) Attested copies of Category certificate i.e. SC/ST/OBC candidates issued by an officer not below the rank of Tahsildar or SDO/SDM etc. The candidates belongs to OBC category must submit OBC certificate in the format prescribed by the Central Govt (Annexure-III). Their candidature will not be accepted unless they produce OBC certificate on Annexure-III. OBC certificate other than Annexure-III will be summarily rejected.
e) One self-addressed envelope of size 23x10 Cms affixed with postage Stamp of Rs. 5/-bearing name and full address of candidate with Pin Code.
f) Application form and Admit Card should be filled properly and forwarded duly affixed passport size photograph on Annexure I & II respectively.
8. Selection Process:
Admit Cards with Roll Numbers and general instructions to appear for test/interview will be issued well before the commencement of test/ interview to the eligible candidates indicating therein the exact location. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the test. Incomplete application will be summarily rejected and no correspondence for this will be entertained.
9. The proposed recruitment Centers would be at Delhi, Imphal, Guwahati, Gangtok, Ranchi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Patiala, Thiruvananthpuram, Vishakhapatnam and Aurangabad. Other centres may be included depending on number of applications received from specific regions of the country.
10. The Director General, ITBPF reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment without assigning any reasons.
