The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan henceforth mentioned as KVS. is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The KVS intends to make recruitment for teaching posts for its schools spread all over India. Applications are invited in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) from the Indian Nationals for Teaching posts in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for the year 2009-10 and for drawing a panel of candidates.
I. Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) : 233 posts in various Subjects (UR-131,OBC-58, SC-30,ST-14)
Pay Scale : Rs. 6500-200-10500
Age Limit: 40 Years (as on 15/12/2008)
Qualification : (i)Two years integrated Post Graduate M.Sc Course of Regional Institute of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject or Master's Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the respective subjects (ii) B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from recognized University. (For subsequent Promotion the incumbent will have to acquire B.Ed. or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised University) (iii) Proficiency in teaching through Hindi and English media. Qualification for PGT for Computer Science separately mentioned in the detailed advertisement.
II. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) : 277 Posts in various subjects (UR-150,OBC-73,SC-38,ST-16, PH-08)
Pay Scale : Rs. 5500-175-9000
Age Limit: 35 Years (as on 15/12/2008 )
Qualification : (i) Four Years Integrated degree course of Regional Institute of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate; or Second Class bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject(s) and in aggregate including elective and languages in the combination of Subjects (ii) B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. (iii) Proficiency in teaching through Hindi and English media (will be judged by way of descriptive type written examination of +2 standard).
Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.
III. Primary Teachers (PRT) : 536 Posts (UR-272,OBC-144,SC-80,ST-40, PH-16)
Pay Scale : Rs. 4500-125-7000
Age Limit : 30 Years (as on 15/12/2008)
Qualification : (i) Senior Secondary School Certificate with 50% marks or Intermediate with 50% marks or its equivalent; and (ii) Diploma or Certificate in basic teachers’ training of a duration of not less than two years. or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or B.Ed. or equivalent. (iii) Competence to teach through Hindi and English media.
Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications
IV. Librarian (LIB) : 26 Posts (UR-15,OBC-7, SC-3,ST-1)
Pay Scale : Rs. 5500-175-9000
Age Limit : 35 Years (as on on 15/12/2008)
Qualification : (i) University Degree in Library Science OR Graduate with one year Diploma in Library Science from a recognized Institution. (ii) Working Knowledge of Hindi & English.
Desirable : nowledge of Computer Operation.
V. Work Experience Teachers (Electrical Gadget and Electronics) (WET (EG & E) : 31 Posts (UR-17,OBC-8,SC-04,ST-02)
Pay Scale : Rs. 5500-175-9000
Age Limit : 35 Years (as on 15/12/2008)
Qualification : i) Three year Diploma after Higher Secondary in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering from an institution recognized by State Govt./ Govt. of India. (The minimum qualification for admission to the Diploma Course should be at least Higher Secondary). OR Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized University. OR B.Sc. (Tech.), B.Ed. from Regional Institute of Education of NCERT.
VI. Music Teacher (MT) : 14 Posts (UR-8,OBC-3,SC-2,ST-1,PH-1)

Age Limit : 30 Years (as on 15/12/2008)
1 ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS
1.1 All applicants must fulfill the essential requirements of the post applied for and other conditions stipulated in this advertisement as on 15th December 2008. Before applying they must satisfy themselves that they possess the essential qualifications prescribed for various posts. The applications of those candidates not fulfilling the essential qualifications and other requirement will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be made in this regard.‘‘
2 AGE RELAXATION
2.1 Relaxation in upper age limit will be as under:
(a) No age bar in the case of employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan
(b) Up-to a maximum of Five years in the case of SC/ ST candidates.
(c) Up-to a maximum of Three years in the case of OBC candidates.
(d) Up-to a maximum of Five years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during 1.1.80 to 31.12.89.
(e) Upto a Maximum of Ten years for women candidates
(f) Up-to a maximum of Five Years for Govt. servants.
(g) An ex-serviceman who has put in not less than 06 months continuous service in the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than 3 years he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. This is applicable for the posts of Trained Graduate Teachers, Primary Teachers and Miscellaneous Teaching Posts. For the post of Post Graduate Teachers, the above will not be applicable.
(h) Up-to a maximum of 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates and 8 years in the case of OBC candidates serving as Govt. employees in accordance with the Govt. of India instructions. An applicant claiming age relaxation under this para should sproduce a certificate from his/her employer to the effect that he/ she is a Govt. servant as on the date of advertisement.
(i) Up-to a maximum of 10 years in the case of Physically Challenged candidates.
2.2 EXCEPT PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CANDIDATES, ALL THE CONCESSIONS MENTIONED ABOVE WILL BE CONCURRENT, THAT IS, IF A PERSON IS ELIGIBLE FOR MORE THAN ONE CONCESSION, ONLY ONE OF THE CONCESSIONS OF THE HIGHEST PERMISSIBLE LIMIT, WILL BE GRANTED.
FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, IF A PERSON BELONGS TO SC/ST, HE/SHE WILL BE ALLOWED 15 YEARS, i.e.,10 YEARS FOR P.C. AND 05 YEARS FOR SC/ST.
2.3 Save as provided above the age limit prescribed can in no case be relaxed.
2.3.1 The date of birth accepted by the KVS is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate.
2.3.2 Self attested copies of these certificates are required to be submitted at the time of submitting the application.
2.3.3 No other document relating to age like horoscope, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, service records and the like will be accepted.
2.3.4 The expression Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the alternative certificates mentioned above.
NOTE 1 Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted by the KVS and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
NOTE 2 Candidates should also note that once a Date of Birth has been claimed by them and entered in the records of the KVS for the purpose of admission to an Examination, no change will be allowed subsequently (or at any other Examination of the KVS) on any grounds whatsoever.
NOTE 3 The candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth in column specified in the application form. If on verification at any subsequent stage, any variation is found in their date of birth from the one entered in their matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, disciplinary action will be taken against them by the KVS under the Rules.
PART - III : HOW TO APPLY AND EXAMINATION FEE/APPLICATION FEE.
i. Application must be submitted in the prescribed format published as Annexure I of this advertisement. The application format can also be downloaded from the website of the sangathan www.kvsangathan.nic.in.
ii. Applicants may apply for one or more than one post in accordance with the dates and timings of the examination fixed for the posts at their own risk so that examination for the posts does not clash.
iii. Candidates desirous to apply for more than one post should submit application for each post accompanied by prescribed fees and necessary enclosures for each post in separate envelopes. Applicants cannot apply for more than one subject in each category of Post (PGT/TGT).
iv. Candidates serving in any recognised Institution/ Organisation/ Autonomous body/ Central Govt./ State Govt. and CBSE affiliated +2 Schools must apply ‘Through Proper Channel’. Applications sent through proper channel should reach the address by the last date. However, a candidate may send an advance copy (along with the demand draft for Rs.400/- (Rs.Four Hundred Only) so as to reach the above-mentioned address before the last date. The advance applications will be considered provisionally subject to the condition that the applications sent through proper channel are invariably received by the last date.
v. Envelope containing the application must be super-scribed in bold letters as
" APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _______________________________________”
vi. All candidates, whether already in Government Service, or in Government owned industrial undertaking or other similar organizations or in private employment should submit their applications direct to the nominated agency of the KVS. If any candidate forwards his application through his employer and it reaches the KVS late, the application, even if submitted to the employer before the closing date, will not be considered.
vii. Persons already in Government service, whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under the Public Enterprises are however, required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the examination.
viii. Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the KVS withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected/candidature will be liable to be cancelled.
NOTE 1 While filling in his application form, the candidate should carefully decide about his choice for the centre and optional subject for the Examination. More than one application from a candidate giving different centers and/ or optional subjects will not be accepted in any case. Even if a candidate sends more than one completed application the KVS will accept only one application at their discretion and decision of the KVS in the matter shall be final.
If any candidate appears at a centre/optional subject other than the one indicated by the KVS in his Admit Card, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his candidature will be liable to cancellation.
NOTE 2 Since these application forms are to be processed in a computerized system, due care should be taken by the candidates to fill up their application form correctly. No column of the Application should be left blank. Incomplete or defective application shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.
Candidates are required to submit along with their applications certificate in support of their claims regarding Age, Education Qualifications, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes and Physically disabled etc. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by the KVS written Examination and Interview Test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Written Examination and Interview Test, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the KVS.
If any of their claims is found to be incorrect, they may render themselves liable to suitable action by the KVS in terms of the extent of the rules of the KVS on the subject.
NOTE 3 A candidate who is or has been declared by the KVS to be guilty of:
(ix) Obtaining support for his candidature by the following means, namely:-
(a) offering illegal gratification to, or
(b) applying pressure on , or
(c) blackmailing, or threatening to black mail any person connected with the conduct of the examination, or
(x) impersonating, or
(xi) procuring impersonation by any person, or
(xii) submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with, or
(xiii)making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information, or
(xiv)resorting to the following means in connection with his candidature for the examination, namely
(a) obtaining copy of question paper through improper means,
(b) finding out the particulars of the persons connected with secret work relating to the examination.
(c) Influencing the examiners, or
(xv) using unfair means during the examination, or
(xvi) writing obscene matter or drawing obscene sketches in the scripts, or
(xvii) misbehaving in the examination hall including tearing of the scripts, provoking fellow examiners to boycott examination, creating a disorderly scene and the like, or
(xviii) harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by the KVS for the conduct of their examinations, or
(xix) being in possession of or using any mobile phone, paper or any electronic equipment or device or any other equipment capable of being used as a communication device during the examination; or
(xx) violating any of the instructions issued to candidates along with their Admit Cards permitting them to take the examination; or
(xxi) attempting to commit or as the case may be abetting the KVS of all or any of the acts specified in the foregoing clauses;
may in addition to rendering himself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable
(a) to be disqualified by the KVS from the examination for which he is a candidate and/or
(b) to be debarred either permanently or for a specified period by the KVS from any examination or selection held by them; and
(c) if he is already in service under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertaking, Centrally financed autonomous organization or any other Govt. body disciplinary action under the appropriate rules may be recommended by the KVS.
Provided that no penalty under this rule shall be imposed except after
(i) giving the candidate an opportunity of making such representation, in writing as he may wish to make in that behalf; and
(ii) taking the representation, if any, submitted by the candidate within the period allowed to him into consideration.
6. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:
6.1 The completed Application Form must reach the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Post Box No. 4624, New Delhi 110 016 on or before 15th December,2008
6.2 In respect of applications received only by post from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Naghaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep or abroad, the last date for receipt of applications, generally a week gap is given by the KVS.
6.3 Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in the appropriate column of the application form, the area code of the particular area or region (e.g. Assam, Meghalaya, J&K etc.) where they are residing. In case they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.
NOTE 1 Candidates should clearly note that the KVS will in no case be responsible for non-receipt of their application or any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever. No application received after the prescribed last date will be entertained under any circumstances and all the late applications will be summarily rejected. They should therefore, ensure that their applications reach the KVS Office on or before the prescribed last date.
7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF APPLICATIONS
7.1 On receipt of an application from a candidate, the Acknowledgement Card submitted by the candidate along with the application form will be dispatched to her/him by the KVS duly stamped in token of receipt of her/his Application. If a candidate does not receive the Acknowledgement Card within 30 days, he should at once contact the KVS by quoting her/his Application for the post applied for, name & year of examination. The mere fact that a candidate’s application has been acknowledged by the KVS does not mean that his candidature for the examination has been accepted by the KVS. Candidates will be informed at the earliest possible about their admission to the examination or rejection of their application.
8. EXAMINATION FEES / APPLICATION FEE
8.1 Candidates will have to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE OF Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only) by Demand Draft only in favour of 'KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN' payable at New Delhi along with his/ her application. The Sangathan will not accept fee sent through IPO/ Money Order/ Crossed Cheque/ Currency note or the Treasury Challans etc. and such applications will be treated as having been received without fee. Separate fee is to be paid through separate bank draft for each post applied.
8.2 The refund of the fee will not be allowed in any case.
8.3 The bank draft should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of publication of this advertisement. In the case of local pay orders issued in lieu of Demand Draft, the validity should be six months or three months as applicable.
8.4 No fee is required to be paid by SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen categories. Physically Challenged persons are also exempted from payment of fee subject to the submission of photocopy of the prescribed Medical certificate issued by a Govt. Hospital, duly signed by Chief Medical Officer. Similarly, the candidates from SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen categories should also enclose a photocopy of certificate issued by competent authority. In the absence of such proof and if no fee has been paid, the application will be rejected on the ground of "fee not paid". No correspondence or proof sent later will be entertained.
8.5 No fee exemption is however available to OBC Candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fees.
NOTE 1 Notwithstanding the aforesaid provision for fee exemption, a physically disabled candidate will be considered to be eligible for appointment only if he (after such physical examination as the Government or the appointing authority, as the case may be may prescribe) is found to satisfy the requirements of physical and medical standards for the concerned Service/Posts to be allocated to Physically disabled candidates by the KVS.
NOTE 2 APPLICATIONS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY THE PRESCRIBED FEE (UNLESS REMISSION OF FEE IS CLAIMED) SHALL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.
9. CORRESPENDENCE WITH THE KVS
9.1 The KVS will not enter into any correspondence with the candidates about their candidature except in the following cases:
(i) Every candidate for this examination will be informed at the earliest possible date of the result of his application. Admit Cards, indicating the Roll Nos. will be issued to the candidates who are admitted to the examination. The Admit Card will bear the photograph of the candidate. If a candidate does not receive his Admit Card or any other communication regarding his candidature for the examination three weeks before the commencement of the examination, he should at once contact the KVS. On receipt of such a communication, Admit Card or a duplicate copy thereto will be issued to the admitted candidate. Information in this regard can also be obtained from the concerned Regional Office of KVS one day before the date of examination.
(ii) No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he holds an Admit Card for the examination. On the receipt of Admit Card, check it carefully and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to the notice of KVS immediately.
9.2 The candidates should note that their admission to the examination will be purely provisional based on the information given by them in the application form. This will be subject to verification of all the eligibility conditions by the KVS.
9.3 The mere fact that a certificate of admission to the Examination has been issued to a candidate, will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the KVS. Candidates may note that the KVS takes up the verification of eligibility conditions of a candidate, with reference to original documents, only after the candidate has qualified for interview. Unless the candidature is formally confirmed by the KVS, it continues to be provisional.
9.4 The decision of the KVS as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the Examination shall be final.
9.5 Candidates should note that the name in the Admit Card in some cases may be abbreviated due to technical reasons.
9.6 In the event of a candidate receiving more than one Admit Card from the KVS, he should use only one of these Admit Cards for appearing at the examination and return the other(s) to the KVS Office.
9.7 Candidate must see that communications sent to him at the address stated in his application are redirected, if necessary. Change in address should be communicated to the KVS at the earliest opportunity. Although the KVS make every effort to take account of such changes, they cannot accept any responsibility in the matter.
9.8 If a candidate receives an Admit Card in respect of some other candidate on account of handling error, the same should be immediately returned to the KVS with a request to issue the correct Admit Card. Candidates may note that they will not be allowed to take the examination on the strength of an Admit Card issued in respect of another candidate.
9.9 ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE KVS SHOULD INVARIABLY CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING PARTICULARS.
(i) NAME OF THE POST APPLIED FOR AND YEAR OF THE EXAMINATION.
(ii) ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NUMBER (IF GIVEN)
(iii) ROLL NUMBER (IF RECEIVED)
(iv) NAME OF CANDIDATE (IN FULL AND IN BLOCK LETTERS)
(v) COMPLETE POSTAL ADDRESS AS GIVEN IN THE APPLICATION.
NOTE 1 COMMUNICATION NOT CONTAINING THE ABOVE PARTICULARS MAY NOT BE ATTENDED TO.
10. For being considered against the vacancies reserved for them, the physically disabled person should have disability of forty percent (40%) or more.
11. WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATIONS: NO REQUEST FOR WITHDRAWAL OF CANDIDATURE RECEIVED FROM A CANDIDATE AFTER HE HAS SUBMITTED HIS APPLICATION WILL BE ENTERTAINED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
PART - IV : MODE OF SELECTION AND SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
(i) The Sangathan will hold written examinations as per scheme of examination given below, for the recruitment to the above mentioned teaching/miscellaneous teachings posts at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, Jammu, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Port Blair.
(ii) The centres for the examinations as mentioned above are subject to change at the discretion of the Sangathan. While every effort will be made to allot the candidates, the centre of his/ her choice for the examination, the Sangathan may at its discretion allot a different centre to the candidate in case sufficient candidates do not opt for a particular centre for any post or for any other administrative reason (s). No request for change of examination centre once allotted will be entertained and the candidate will have to appear at the allotted centre at his/ her expenses.
(iii) The mode of selection shall include a written test/ examination, proficiency and/or performance test, subject competency test and personal interview.
(iv) (a) The 1st paper which is meant for screening of candidates shall have two parts. The first part will consist of objective type questions covering areas viz., General Knowledge, English Language Skill, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Current Affairs, Education, General Science and Indian Constitution etc. This will carry 50% marks.
(b) The second part will consist of objective type questions on the subject offered by the candidates for selection. This will also carry 50% marks.
(c) The 2nd paper meant for evaluation of language competence will be of qualifying in nature. However, the candidate will be expected to obtain 20% marks in English & Hindi separately as well as minimum 33% in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test
(d) The 3rd paper shall be subject paper containing long and short answer questions pertaining to subject/post for which a candidate has applied. The questions may be recall type questions to test the conceptual understanding of the topics. A few questions on drawing interpretations from given raw data and some situational questions may also be asked to test the analytical ability and intelligence of the candidates.
(v) It is essential for all candidate to appear at all the examinations as per above details. In case a candidate is found absent in any of the tests, his/her answer sheet will not be evaluated. For the evaluation purpose no negative marking will be given. The detailed scheme of examination is as under:
(vi) The above scheme of examination will remain unchanged except change in the order of date (s) for PGT, TGT, PRT, Librarian, Work Experience Teacher and music Teacher, which may be changed depending upon number of candidates. While effort will be made to conduct the Examination in order of dates mentioned above for each category, there is a possibility that the order of dates for conduct of examination for PGT TGT, PRT, Librarian, Work Experience Teacher and music Teacher may change due to administrative reasons. The exact date of holding the examination for these posts will be indicated in the Admit - Card to be sent to eligible candidates.
(vii) The candidate’s performance in Paper I will be evaluated first. Based on the marks and merit ranking secured by a candidate, upto a cut off percentage as decided by KVS, the answer sheets of Paper II and Paper III will be evaluated further in respect of only those candidates who are short listed on the basis of Paper I. The paper II will be of qualifying in nature. However, the candidate will be expected to secure at least 20% marks in English & Hindi separately as well as minimum 33% in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test. While processing the final results only those candidates will be included who have obtained a pre determined cut off percentage of marks in paper III. Only those candidates will be called for the interview who have secured merit ranking based on the performance (above cut off percentage) in the Paper III.
(viii) The Sangathan will make preliminary scrutiny of all the applications to determine eligibility of candidate before the Written Tests. For this purpose a candidate has to attach attested copies of qualification certificates, mark-sheets, caste, sub-category etc. for determining eligibility. However, in case even at the time of preliminary scrutiny, a candidate is allowed to appear at the written examination or even if called for the interview and such candidate does not fulfill any of the laid down selection criteria, his/her candidature will automatically be treated as cancelled even after giving letter of appointment. Therefore, before submitting the application, the candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility criteria as laid down in this advertisement. His/ her candidature will be purely provisional subject to eligibility being verified again after the test and/ or interview.
(ix) Candidate, who has been allowed to appear at the written test and/ or interview, should not presume that he/ she is eligible for appointment to the post.
(x) The Sangathan reserves the right to cancel his/ her candidature at any stage of the selection, if it is not as per the provisions laid down in this advertisement.
(xi) The decision of the Sangathan about the mode of selection to the post and eligibility conditions of the applicant shall be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
(xii) The candidate will report to the interview board well in advance, i.e., say at least 30 minutes before commencement of interview.
12. DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED WITH THE APPLICATION
12.1. A Bank Draft of Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only) in favour of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, payable at New Delhi.
12.2. Two copies of recent photograph (size 35 x 45 mm) facing camera, out of which one duly attested by a Gazetted Officer and one without attestation should be affixed in the box provided in the application form.
12.3. Attested photocopies of all the educational qualifications, academic and professional, mark-sheets for all the years, degree/ diploma certificates starting from Senior Secondary/ Intermediate to highest academic/ professional qualification the candidate possesses, all certificates in claim of CCA, achievements/ distinction in Sports, Literary activities, Scouts & Guides, NCC, NSS etc., class X/ certificate for proof of date of birth, caste/ category, sub-category certificates issued by the competent authority, Form of Undertaking to be furnished by Armed Forces personnel applying for Civil Posts under Ex-Servicemen category, experience certificates etc. duly tagged with application together.
12.4. One self addressed and self stamped Post Card by affixing postage stamp worth of Rs.6/-.
13. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS
13.1 Candidate must send application by ordinary post since applications sent by Regd. Post/ Courier are not accepted at Post Box address latest by 15th December,2008. KVS will not be responsible for applications sent at any other address (including KVS office) or sent by hand or otherwise. Candidates are advised to send the application well in advance to avoid any postal delay, in such a manner that the same reaches before the stipulated date for receipt of application. Similarly, those sending application through proper channel should also ensure that the application from the employer is sent well in time so that the same is received by the last date. Sangathan will not accept any application received after the last date and will summarily reject the same. Post office has been given instructions not to accept any application after the last date. Such applications will be re-directed by Post Office at the cost and risk of applicant. The KVS will not entertain any correspondence from such applicants and their applications will not be accepted under any circumstances even if a candidate shows proof of dispatch. The KVS will not be responsible for any delay on the part of candidate/ post office.
14. Reasons of Rejection
14.1 The following are the broad parameters of rejection of application of a candidate:
(i) Non-receipt of fee with application in the manner desired (except exempted category)
(ii) Non-receipt of any of the documentary proof in the form of attested photocopies of qualification, mark-sheets, other certificate (s) etc.
(iii) Non-receipt of caste certificate/ sub-category certificate, wherever applicable.
(iv) Not possessing the degree/ desired qualification up-to cut off date.
(v) Not fulfilling any of the laid down eligibility criteria by cut off date.
(vi) Incomplete application or application not received on proper format.
15. GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP THE APPLICATION FORM
15.1 Applicants must read the 'Guidelines' before filling up the Application Form and must ensure that no column applicable to them is left blank or wrongly filled as the Information furnished therein would be used for deciding the eligibility and suitability of the applicants for being called for written examination/ Interview. Correct name of the course/ degree must be written with proper nomenclature. Applications not filled correctly and not as per the 'Guidelines' are liable to be rejected and the onus of such rejection would be on the applicant(s).
15.2 The candidates must fill in the application form published in Annexure to this advertisement or may get this form photocopied or typed
neatly in fullscape size white paper (21 cms x 30 cms) in double space on one side of the paper or on printed application form ensuring that its format is exactly the same as published by the Sangathan in this advertisement or may download from the Sangathan website www.kvsangathan.nic.in. While filling up information in block letters in boxes relating to name, address, father's name etc., one box should be left blank between the names/ words. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Kendriya Vidyalaya (s) will not supply application Forms.
15.3 The application forms are to be processed in computerized system. Candidates should take special care that entries made in the application form are clear, legible and complete. The candidate will be solely responsible for any adverse decision on his/ her candidature due to illegible or misleading entries. Applications, which are illegible or are incompletely/ incorrectly filled, shall be summarily rejected.
15.4 The candidates should note that no request for change of subject or post or centre as indicated originally by them in the application form shall be entertained by the Sangathan under any circumstances.
15.5 While filling his/her application form, the candidate should carefully decide about, his/ her choice of post or preference of the centre of the examination.
15.6 The candidates should fill up the appropriate codes for the category, post, qualification, area and centre of examination in the application form. The codes for various category/ posts/ qualifications are mentioned against qualifications for each post.

17. General Instructions
17.1. Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances, they will be allowed the help of scribe to write the answers for them. However, blind candidates will be allowed to write the examination with the help of a scribe.
NOTE 1 The eligibility conditions of a scribe, his/her conduct inside the examination hall and the manner in which and extent to which he/she can help the blind candidate in writing the Examination shall be governed by the instructions issued by the KVS in this regard. Violation of all or any of the said instructions shall entail the cancellation of the candidature of the blind candidate in addition to any other action that the KVS may take against the scribe.
NOTE 2 For purpose of these rules the candidate shall be deemed to be blind candidate if the percentage of visual impairment is 40% or more. The criteria for determining the percentage of visual impairment shall be as follows:

NOTE 3 For availing of the concession admissible to a blind candidate, the candidate concerned shall produce a certificate in the prescribed proforma from a Medical Board constituted by the Central/State Government along with his application for the Main Examination.
NOTE 4 The concession admissible to blind candidates shall not be admissible to those suffering from Myopia.
17.2 KVS has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
17.3 If a candidate’s handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will be made on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.
17.4 Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.
17.5 Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of the examination.
17.6 In the question papers, wherever required, SI units will be used.
17.7 Candidates should use only international form of Indian numerals (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4,5,6 etc/) while answering question papers.
17.8 Candidates will be allowed the use of Scientific (Non-Programmable type) calculators. Programmable type calculators will however not be allowed and the use of such calculators shall tantamount to resorting to unfair means by the candidates. Loaning or interchanging of calculators in the Examination Hall is not permitted.
17.9 It is also important to note that candidates are not permitted to use calculators for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not therefore bring the same inside the Examination Hall.
18. Interview Test
18.1 The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them a record of his career. He will be asked questions on matters of general interest. Questions on the subject pertaining to the post applied for may also be asked. The object of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in teaching profession by a Board of competent and unbiased observers. The test is intended to judge the mental caliber and communication skill of a candidate. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, and balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.
18.2 The technique of the interview is not that of a strict cross-examination but of a natural, though directed and purposive conversation which is intended to reveal the mental qualities of the candidate.
18.3 The interview test is not intended to be a test either of the specialized or general knowledge of the candidates which has been already tested through their written papers. Candidates are expected to have taken an intelligent interest not only in their special subjects of academic study but also in the events which are happening around them both within and outside their own state or country as well as in modern currents of thought and in new discoveries which should arouse the curiosity of well educated youth/informed citizen.
18.4 The final merit list will be based on the combined performance in the written test, i.e., paper III and the interview. The Weightage shall be 80:20 respectively.
18.5 The weighted evaluation scheme in respect of miscellaneous category of teachers such as music teacher shall be as under:

Performance Test : 30%
Interview : 20%
19. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
19.1 Applications have been invited only for the posts of PGT/TGT/PRT/Music Teacher/Librarian & Work Experience Teacher. Applications for other posts should not be submitted.
19.2 The vacancies advertised may vary. They may decrease or increase.
19.3 Qualifications acquired by the candidates should be strictly in accordance with the prescribed qualifications and candidate should not seek claim of equivalence of their qualifications with that of qualifications as asked for. Wherein grades have been given, equivalence marks of gradation should be attached.
19.4 The Candidate should not fill in those qualifications in the application form for which they have appeared in any of the examination whose result is awaited/ withheld/ not declared.
19.5 Since examination for the posts will be held on three days, a candidate may apply for one or more than one post in accordance with the dates and timings of the examination fixed for the posts, at his/ her own risk so that examinations for the posts may not clash. However, a candidate must apply separately for a post.
19.6 The blind candidates applying for a post must clearly write/ mark the column of Blind and PC to determine their case and eligibility etc. Such candidates will not be allowed to use the services of their guide/ scribe. The guide/ scribe will be provided at the centre who will assist such candidates in writing their answer on their behalf, in case the visibility level is such that they cannot write on their own.
19.7 The OBC candidate must produce a certificate in the prescribed pro-forma, as is issued for employment in central Govt. offices and they should not be from creamy layer.
19.8 Application should be submitted by ordinary post only to: -

19.9 Candidates serving in any recognized institution/ organization/ autonomous body of Central Govt./State Govt. must apply under intimation to his/ her Employer. They will also be required to provide a ‘No Objection Certificate’, if called for Interview.
19.10 Applicants should note that in case a communication is received by the 'Sangathan' from his/ her present employer, withholding the candidate from appearing at the written test/ interview, his/ her application/ candidature will be rejected.
19.11 Candidates admitted to the examination will be sent Photo Admit Card permitting them to take the examination. No candidate will be permitted to appear at the examination without the Admit Card.
19.12 On receiving the admit cards, candidates should verify that the scanned photograph, signatures (taken from the application form) printed on the admit card are identical and there is no variation of any kind in the photographs and signatures. If any variation is found, please inform Regional Office of KVS located in the city of the centre allocated for examination one day before the scheduled date of exam so that remedial action is taken.
19.13 A candidate who does not receive Admit-card for the examination may get in touch with the Assistant Commissioner, Regional Office of the KVS at the city of examination (list of KVS Regional Offices is available at the website of KVS) alongwith proof of their having applied for the post one day before the scheduled date of exam, between 10 AM to 3 PM alongwith 2 passport size photographs for issuance of provisional admit card. In respect of those candidates whose applications not received by Sangathan due to postal delay or otherwise, no action will be taken and no fresh request will be entertained.
19.14 Important information relating to conduct of KVS Examination for recruitment of teaching and miscellaneous teaching posts will be available at KVS website www.kvsangathan.nic.in. Applicants must remain in touch with KVS through its website for the important information which KVS will display on its website from time to time.
19.15 Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
19.16 There will not be any negative marking for evaluation purposes. The question papers will be provided bilingually, i.e., in Hindi and English.
19.17 A candidate appearing for the examination must bring with him/her a Pen, Pencil, Rubber and other stationary for examination purposes.
19.18 No Calculator, Cell Phone, Digital Diary, Weapon etc. will be allowed inside the examination hall.
19.19 The Sangathan may, at its discretion, hold re-examination. The candidate will be required to appear for such re-examination at his/her own cost.
19.20 No TA/DA will be paid for appearing at the written tests and interview, except SC/ST candidates for interview only.
19.21 The results of the short-listed candidates for interview will be available on the website. The short-listed candidates will be sent interview letters for appearing at the interview to be held at Delhi.
19.22 Based on the overall performance in the written examination and Interview, appointment letters will be issued by Sangathan.
19.23 Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India based on the vacancies available in specific region.
19.24 Selected candidates will be entitled to various allowances as admissible in accordance with the KVS Rules.
19.25 Selected candidates will initially be on probation for two years, which is extendable by one year, if necessary.
19.26 For all practical purposes or in case of any discrepancy in the context of text of the advertisement in Hindi language, the English version of the advertisement will prevail.
19.27 The jurisdiction for all legal matters for this recruitment will be New Delhi and legal cases filed (if any) in other courts will not be maintainable.
