Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for recruitment to the following faculty posts:

01. Name of the Post: Assistant Professor (Pay Scale: Rs 12000 – 420 –18300/-)

Qualifications and Experience: Good academic record with a doctorate degree or equivalent
published work. In addition to these, the candidates who join from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the 7 points Scale (50 % for SC/ST candidates, and PhD degree holders who have obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991) 5 years of experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and had made some mark in the areas of scholarship has evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

03. Name of the Post: LECTURER (Pay Scale: Rs 8000 – 275-13500/-)

Qualifications and Experience:
i) Qualification and Experience: Good academic record with at least 55% marks (50 % for SC/ST
candidates, and PhD degree holders who have obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991) or equivalent grade of B in the 7 point Scale at Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
ii) Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the eligibility test for
Lecturers conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar test, accredited by the UGC.
Desirable: PhD Degree “NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with post-graduate degree. However, the candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for PG level and UG level teaching. The candidates having M.Phil degree in the concerned subject are
exempted from NET for UG level teaching only.”

Prescribed application form and Biodata sheet may be downloaded from the website www.becs.ac.in and to be submitted to the Receiving Section of the University either by person or by post along with a DD of Rs. 300/-(three hundred) only drawn in favour of “ The Registrar, BESUS” on any Nationalised Bank payable in Kolkata. The application, completed in all respect along with six sets of photocopies of it and Biodata sheet must reach the Registrar latest by 02.01.2009 . Only one set of attested copy of marksheet and
testimonials etc. is to be attached with the original.

Candidates already in Government or Semi-Government services must apply through proper channel.

Actual number of vacancies may change. The choice of the Selecting Authority need not be confined only to those who apply.
