BHEL country's premier organization and one of the NAVARATNA PSUs, provides world class products and services in power, transportation, transmission and Electronic Sector.
BHEL has manufacturing Divisions, Power Sector Regional Centres, Service Centres, Regional Offices and a large number of Project Sites spread all over India and Abroad.

BHEL is on the lookout for Engineering Supervisors and Guest House Supervisor to be engaged on Fixed Tenure Basis for a maximum period of two years for Electronics Division at Bangalore or anywhere in India at their Project Sites.

No of Vacancies: 43
of posts for SC –06, ST-03, OBC (Non creamy layer)-11, Physically Challenged in the categories of Locomotor Disability (Orthopaedically handicapped) and Hearing impairment -02 and Ex-servicemen will be as per Govt. Directives.

The number of vacancies indicated above is tentative and actual requirement may vary based on further assessment.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: Upper age limit: As on 01/08/2008: 28 years

Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SCs & STs, 3 years for OBCs (Non creamy layer) and 10 years for Phy. Ch. Candidates and for Ex-servicemen as per Govt. Directives. A relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit is also admissible to candidates who ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989.
Minimum Qualification: Engineering Supervisors –position code FTA-01- FTA-08 : Diploma in Engineering in relevant discipline from an institute recognized by AICTE. Guest House Supervisor- position code FTA-09: Full time Diploma in Hotel Management/Catering Technology or equivalent courses from any recognized Institute /University. Candidates who have secured at least 60% of the marks in Diploma and in case of SC/ST candidates 50% of the marks, in the aggregate of all the years/ semesters need only apply. Experience: Minimum 1 year post qualification relevant work experience in areas specified below. (Apprentice training period is not considered as work experience)

Remuneration: The selected candidates will be paid an all inclusive monthly consolidated remuneration of Rs. 9800/- in the first year and Rs. 10500/- in the second year. Selected candidates will also be eligible for reimbursement of premium for Mediclaim policy upto Rs. 2 Lakhs for self and family. Mode of selection: Selection will be through written test and /or an Interview.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS/CONDITIONS:
1] THE APPOINTMENT IS PURELY ON FIXED TENURE BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS OR THE COMPLETION OF PROJECT, WHICHEVER IS EARLIER, AND IT IS NOT AGAINST ANY PERMANENT VACANCY. This placement will not entitle any candidate to claim for regular/permanent employment in BHEL in future.
2] Candidates should possess the job specifications as on 20/09/2008.
3] Candidates not having relevant one year post qualification work experience in areas mentioned under “Experience Requirements” need not apply.
4] Candidates should enclose self attested copies of proof of date of birth, mark sheets of all semesters/consolidated mark sheet of Diploma qualification and experience certificates along with the application form.
5] A non-refundable Account payee DD for Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of M/s BHEL Electronics Division on any scheduled bank payable at Bangalore is to be enclosed along with the application. No other mode of payment is acceptable. Candidates are advised to write their name and address on reverse side of DD. No application fee is to be paid by SC/ST and Physically Challenged candidates.
6] Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Challenged#/Ex-servicemen category should enclose self attested copy of the certificate issued by the Competent Authority to that effect.
OBC candidates are required to submit Other Backward Class Certificate ('Non-Creamy Layer'*) (Certificate in the format as applicable for appointment to posts under Government of India, is to be produced).
OBC candidates are also required to furnish a self-undertaking that they belong to OBC (Non Creamy Layer) by filling and signing the self-undertaking provided in the application format.

[Note: ** OBC Candidates: Candidates belonging to those Communities which are recognized as a backward class by the Government of India for the purpose of reservation in services as per orders contained in Department of Personnel and Training Office Memorandum No.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.1993 *- Creamy Layer : „The gross annual income of parents of the candidate should not be more than Rs.2.5 lakhs in last three consecutive years in line with DOPT OM No.36033/3/2004- Estt.(Res) dated 9th March, 2004.'] #The Physically Challenged candidates are required to furnish self attested copy of duly stamped Medical Certificate in relation to their disability from Government Hospital or Medical Board attached to Special Employment Exchange for the handicapped.

The definition of Locomotor Disability (Orthopaedically Handicapped) and Hearing Impairment are as under: Locomotor Disability (Orthopaedically Handicapped)- means minimum 40% disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs. Hearing Impairment – means loss of sixty decibel or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies.

7] Category such as OBC, SC, ST should be carefully filled up in the application form as this will not be allowed to be changed at a later date. OBC Candidates who do not come under the Non-creamy layer should indicate their Category as General

8] Short listed candidates will be individually informed about the Written Test and/or Interview

9] Candidates called for Interview will be reimbursed second class return train fare by the shortest route from their starting station or mailing address whichever is nearer to the place of Interview.

10] Applications that are not in conformity with the requirements indicated in this advertisement, incomplete applications and those received after the last date, as also, applications not accompanied with requisite demand draft, will not be entertained.

11] Mere conformity to the job requirements will not entitle a candidate, for calling for Written Test and/or Interview. Management reserves the right to reject the application without assigning any reason, to change the number of posts, raise the Standard of Specifications to restrict the number of candidates to be called for Written Test and /or Interview.

12] Indian National need only apply.

13] The recruitment process can be cancelled / suspended / terminated without assigning any reasons. The decision of the management will be final and no appeal will be entertained.

14] Candidates will be subjected to medical examination by the Company's Doctor prior to their appointment after due selection.

15] No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates not selected for Written Test/Interview / fixed tenure appointment.

16] Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
